TGT Social Studies – Job Description

Location: Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh
Institution Type: CBSE or State Board secondary school (classes 6–10)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons in History, Geography, Civics, and Economics
• Align instruction with state/CBSE curriculum standards
• Develop assessments such as quizzes, assignments, and projects, and provide timely feedback
• Promote critical thinking through class discussions and interactive activities (debates, role-plays, map work)
• Integrate real-world examples, current affairs, and digital tools such as smartboards and presentations
• Maintain discipline, attendance logs, and student portfolios
• Participate in parent–teacher meetings and collaborate with other teaching staff on events

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any two of the following: History, Geography, Economics, Political Science (one must be History or Geography)
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) with Social Studies as a methodology
• Passed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Paper II or equivalent certification for State government teaching roles
• 2–4 years of teaching experience in Social Studies at CBSE or State schools

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
