Job Description: TGT Science Teacher

Position Overview

The Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in Science is responsible for teaching science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Science) to middle and secondary school students (Classes VI–X). The role focuses on building scientific curiosity, analytical thinking, and practical application of concepts.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery
• Teach Science as per CBSE curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and lab activities.
• Integrate practical experiments and demonstrations into classroom teaching.
• Student Engagement
• Foster inquiry-based learning and critical thinking.
• Encourage participation in science fairs, projects, and competitions.
• Provide extra support to students needing academic assistance.
• Assessment & Evaluation
• Design and conduct tests, assignments, and lab work.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Laboratory Management
• Supervise and guide students during practical sessions.
• Ensure safety protocols and proper use of lab equipment.
• Maintain inventory of science materials and apparatus.
• Professional Development
• Stay updated with modern teaching practices and scientific advancements.
• Participate in workshops, seminars, and school events.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Physics/Chemistry/Biology or related discipline).
• B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory.
• CTET/STET qualification preferred (depending on board requirements).
• Prior teaching experience in middle/secondary school is desirable.

• Strong subject knowledge across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Classroom management and student mentoring abilities.
• Proficiency in using smart boards, digital tools, and online teaching platforms.
