Tech in Mechanical/Automotive /Electrical/Production Job Summary: A results-driven and experienced Senior Manager Chassis Assembly to lead and oversee the production operations for the chassis assembly line in our Electric Bus Manufacturing facility. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the chassis assembly processes, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety norms, and delivery timelines are met. Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end chassis assembly operations for electric buses, ensuring daily/weekly/monthly production targets are achieved. Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency in production. Coordinate with planning, stores, logistics, and body shop to ensure timely availability of materials and parts. Monitor and control takt time, cycle time, and line balancing to optimize productivity. Supervise and mentor production supervisors, line engineers, and technicians to ensure high team performance. Develop training plans and skill matrix for team competency development. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety. Ensure adherence to quality standards and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation in case of defects. Work closely with the Quality team to implement in-line inspection systems and reduce rework/rejection rates. Collaborate with Industrial Engineering and Maintenance teams to implement automation, tooling upgrades, and productivity improvements. Maintain accurate production data, generate MIS reports, and present KPIs to management. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of chassis assembly process, especially for electric or heavy commercial vehicles. Experience with EV-specific components such as battery packs, powertrains, controllers, etc. (preferred). Proficiency in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and shop floor management. Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills. Working knowledge of ERP systems and production planning tools (SAP preferred). Exposure to TCF Team management. Task Management. Financial Acumen.
