As a Textile Designer in the field of Home Furnishing, you will be responsible for creating commercially viable samples and CADs based on buyer moodboards. Your creativity will play a crucial role as you are expected to think innovatively without heavy reliance on Pinterest or the internet for inspiration. Collaboration with team members and judicious sharing of resources are essential aspects of this role. Additionally, you should possess a good understanding of multi technique and surface embroideries. To qualify for this position, you should have graduated from a premier design institute and have 5-8 years of hands-on experience in an export house specializing in home furnishing or soft goods. Experience working with US buyers, particularly with TJ-MAX, is a prerequisite. Proficiency in creating CADs, hand-drawing, knowledge of printing techniques, and a strong command of oral and written communication for interactions with Buying Houses and direct Buyers are crucial. A sound understanding of the commercial aspects of design is also expected.
