As a Network Planning Executive at APM Terminals GTI in Mumbai, you will be a key player in ensuring the efficient movement of cargo across the supply chain. Your primary focus will be on executing and optimizing terminal planning activities in alignment with global and inland networks, with the ultimate goal of facilitating a seamless flow of containers and achieving operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include monitoring trade lane planning, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the timely execution of routing activities. Additionally, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and escalating potential bottlenecks in the cargo movement process. Key responsibilities of this role involve supporting the daily planning and execution of container movements across sea, inland, and terminal operations. You will be required to monitor routing schedules closely and proactively address any operational delays or disruptions that may arise. Effective coordination with vendors, carriers, and internal teams is crucial to maintaining visibility and accuracy in the network flow. It is essential to keep accurate and up-to-date records of planning and routing information in the relevant systems and escalate any exceptions or non-standard issues to the appropriate planning or operations team. Furthermore, your role will involve identifying inefficiencies in planning processes and recommending solutions to drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with Maersk/APMT safety and operational standards. We are looking for a candidate with at least 2-4 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or terminal planning, with a preference for individuals with port/terminal experience. A solid understanding of the supply chain and container flow processes is essential, along with proficiency in working with planning tools and logistics software such as TOS, Excel, and SAP. Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills are required to excel in this role, as you will be operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility operational environment. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with meticulous attention to detail is crucial, along with the ability to work independently with moderate supervision and exercise sound judgment. Role & responsibilities This position directly reports to Managing Director and hence very clear, prompt and efficient communication is MUST. Based on performance, the candidate can expect to rise to Deputy Chief Engineer within the organization. Lead and oversee the planning and design of maritime and associated structures from initial concepts through to detailed designs, including Port Planning, jetties, quay walls, and sea water intake structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Lead the Feasibility studies and Detailed project report with a thorough understanding of actual ground conditions related to construction aspects, access to site etc. Production and proof checking of design calculations, checking and reviewing of calculations produced by junior staff in compliance with Quality Standards. Producing sketch drawings and details for CAD drawing by junior staff checking and reviewing of these prior to issue. Well-rounded experience in planning and designing of container, bulk, and Oil & Gas, LNG terminals. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and experience in the planning and design of Port and marine terminal facilities, riverine terminals, multimodal modal logistics parks, supply chain understanding, considering operational efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. Contribute to the planning and design of breakwater projects, integrating innovative solutions for wave attenuation and harbour protection. Preparation of specifications, Bills of Quantities and assistance with contract documents for construction projects. Technical direction of design activities with a focus on project delivery and quality of deliverables. Commercial and technical management of projects within the office, ensuring that projects show a profitable result. Carrying out inspections and surveys, preparation of reports, structural analyses and reporting. Lead and provide insights into land reclamation projects, ensuring sustainable and resilient development in coastal areas. Review and oversee dredging initiatives, considering navigational requirements and environmental impact assessments. Apply detailed design experience to ensure the successful implementation of maritime engineering projects. Possess a thorough understanding of Indian and international maritime standards, applying this knowledge to all aspects of project planning and execution. Utilize Building Information Modelling (BIM) effectively in the planning and design phases, ensuring accurate representation and coordination of maritime engineering projects. Lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with other engineering disciplines, environmental specialists, and project managers. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers within the maritime engineering team. Actively participate in client interactions, addressing project-specific challenges, providing regular updates, and ensuring client satisfaction. Conduct site visits to assess maritime conditions, address construction challenges, and ensure the quality assurance of maritime engineering solutions. Assist in planning manpower for Project deliverables. Interact closely with Business Development Team to contribute in enhancing company reputation within the maritime market and lead the technical discussions with client and assist the technical proposal preparation as required by MD of the company Preferred candidate profile Ph.D. or Masters degree in Maritime/Structural Engineering. 12-15 years of professional experience in port planning and marine structural engineering, with a focus on the design of marine structures and port projects. Well-versed and thorough knowledge of Indian and international maritime standards. Experience in the Port planning and design of container, bulk, and LNG terminals. Expertise in breakwater projects, land reclamation, and dredging initiatives. Detailed design experience in maritime engineering. Knowledge with Building Information Modelling (BIM). Strong project management skills and ability to lead interdisciplinary teams
