As a Principal Engineer specializing in Control and Instrumentation (C&I) within our ME AS-E&G business, you will play a crucial role in our GCC engineering department in Bengaluru, contributing significantly to the success of our projects in the Energy, Water, and Networks domains. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing C&I design and review processes for large and medium-scale multidisciplinary projects. Additionally, you will be expected to lead the C&I design aspects for projects within our E&G business streams. Your key responsibilities will revolve around detailed design engineering, design review, and consultancy services, particularly in the Desalination and Power Plants sector. Experience in Combined Cycle Plants, Renewables, Transmission and Distribution Substations within the Electricity Utility industry will be advantageous for this role. Some of the core responsibilities include monitoring, controlling, and executing project design and review activities within set schedules and budgets, coordinating with internal engineers to deliver project outputs on time, interacting with clients to understand and fulfill their requirements, and ensuring all deliverables align with project and client specifications while maintaining high quality standards. In terms of mandatory skills, you should possess detailed knowledge and practical experience in general instrumentation and control designs related to energy and industry sectors. Your technical expertise should cover areas such as Power, Water, Wastewater, and Renewable sectors. You should also have hands-on experience in field instrumentation, control, and automation systems in the power and water industries. Moreover, your role will involve tasks such as consultancy for Owners & Lenders Engineer, detailed design projects, feasibility studies, and operational support services in the power sector. Additionally, you should be adept at leading technical meetings with clients and contractors, preparing necessary reports, and providing engineering support throughout various project phases. Your ability to develop and review control systems/equipment control philosophy, specifications, and diagrams, as well as your proficiency in assessing designs and implementing modifications, will be crucial for success in this role. Furthermore, you should be capable of multitasking and managing multiple projects efficiently, along with the willingness to travel as required. Desired skills include understanding project lifecycles and technical project management. For internal candidates, a degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or Electronics Engineering is essential, with a master's degree being advantageous. A minimum of 12 to 15 years of industry experience in detailed design and consultancy of instrumentation and control systems is required, along with membership in relevant professional bodies being desirable.
