Technical Lead/Developer

As a Lead Developer, you will report to the Head of Technology based in London. Your core responsibilities will include leading the development of new features and platform improvements, managing, mentoring, and motivating team members, liaising with UK-based stakeholders to ensure team alignment with business and technical objectives, planning, coordinating, and delivering technical projects to the agreed schedule, championing and enforcing technical standards, ensuring the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is followed within the team, and assisting with hiring, onboarding, and developing the team. In this role, you will work with an exciting and modern tech stack built for scale, reliability, and productivity. To succeed, you should have solid experience with tools such as Python (SQLAlchemy, Flask, Numpy, Pandas), MySQL, AWS (ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS), RabbitMQ, Docker, Linux, GitLab, Generative AI tools, and AI Tools. The required qualifications and experience for this role include a university degree in a STEM subject from a reputable institution, at least 8 years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead/management role, proven experience liaising with remote stakeholders, familiarity with the tech stack or equivalent technologies, and a basic understanding of financial markets and derivative products. You should possess excellent teamwork skills, professional fluency in English (both written and spoken), excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones, a strong understanding of distributed software systems, an analytical and inquisitive mindset, and a desire to take on responsibility and make a difference.
