Technical Lead, Data Management

Role Overview: As the Tech Lead Data Management, you will provide technical leadership, solution oversight, and day-to-day coordination for a dedicated client pod of India-based engineers and consultants. Your expertise in Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and modern data engineering practices will be crucial in guiding teams to implement high-quality, scalable, cloud-based data solutions. Your focus will be on delivery excellence and client alignment rather than formal people management responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Act as the single point of coordination for India-based resources supporting a specific US client. - Partner closely with US-based project managers, architects, and client stakeholders to ensure alignment of workstreams and expectations. - Support requirement clarification, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and ongoing technical discussions with the client team. - Provide visibility into India pod progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines. - Ensure seamless communication and handoff across time zones. - Lead the design, development, and optimization of Snowflake-based data solutions. - Oversee ELT development using dbt and ingestion pipelines using Fivetran or similar tools. - Guide team members on data modeling, performance tuning, SQL best practices, and cloud data platform patterns. - Conduct technical reviews of queries, dbt models, pipelines, and documentation. - Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure rapid resolution of delivery blockers. - Implement and enforce data security, governance, and compliance standards across the client environment. - Ensure India pod deliverables meet quality standards, established frameworks, and client acceptance criteria. - Monitor adherence to best practices in data engineering, data governance, and architectural guidelines. - Coordinate testing, validation, deployment activities, and release support for pipelines and transformations. - Establish and maintain technical operating procedures, coding standards, and documentation requirements. Qualifications Required: - 7-10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, and enterprise data solutions. - 5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, including design, optimization, and administration. - 3+ years of experience with DBT for data transformations and workflow automation. - 3+ years of experience using Fivetran for automated data ingestion. - Strong expertise in SQL, ETL/ELT workflows, and cloud-based data modeling. - Experience integrating Snowflake with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.). - Familiarity with Python, Airflow, or other orchestration tools for advanced data processing. - Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud ecosystems. - Experience implementing data governance, metadata management, and security policies.
