Job Title: Project Lead Second-Life Battery Repurposing (Full-Time, Permanent) Location: Sreerampore, West Bengal Company: Navprakriti Green Energies Pvt. Ltd. Industry: Lithium-ion Battery Recycling & Energy Storage Reports to: Director / Founder About the Company: Navprakriti Green Energies is a pioneering startup focused on sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling. As we expand into second-life battery applications, we are setting up a dedicated line to test, repurpose, and assemble used batteries into functional energy storage solutions. We're seeking a technically sound, execution-driven professional to lead this greenfield project. Role Overview: The Project Lead Second-Life Battery Repurposing will be responsible for setting up our second-life battery division from the ground up. This includes technology evaluation, equipment selection, vendor onboarding, process and layout design, and overseeing commissioning and handover of the facility for operations. This is a core leadership role at the intersection of technology, operations, and project management . Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Planning & Execution Lead the planning and execution of the second-life battery repurposing line within the recycling facility. Prepare detailed project plan including timelines, budget, technical specifications, and resource requirements. Coordinate with internal teams (plant, procurement, finance, EHS) to align project deliverables. 2. Technology & Vendor Selection Identify suitable technologies and equipment for: Battery SoH (State of Health) testing Grading and sorting BMS integration Pack assembly and balancing Final performance testing Evaluate and finalize vendors for machinery, software (battery analytics), and technical services. Negotiate contracts and track delivery schedules, installation, and commissioning. 3. Facility Layout & Infrastructure Design Design the layout of the second-life battery line: workflow zoning, equipment placement, storage, and safety pathways. Determine requirements for electrical connections, ventilation, fire safety, and ESD control. Oversee infrastructure readiness and coordinate with civil/facility teams for modifications. 4. Process Development & SOPs Establish standard operating procedures for: Battery testing and SoH classification Disassembly, repackaging, and assembly Safety gear, ESD, and fire safety compliance Create process flowcharts, operator instructions, and maintenance protocols. 5. Safety, Compliance & Certifications Ensure compliance with national regulations (e.g., BIS, CPCB, MNRE) for second-life battery products. Collaborate with safety and quality teams to implement necessary protections (thermal, short circuit, etc.). Drive quality assurance protocols for reliability and performance of repurposed batteries. 6. Handover & Operationalization Conduct dry runs, trial batches, and validation of repurposed battery packs. Train operators and technical staff on equipment and processes. Prepare documentation and hand over the line to operations team for full-scale production. Qualifications & Experience: Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Energy Systems, or related field. M.Tech or MBA (Operations/Technology Management) is a plus. Experience: 510 years in lithium-ion battery domain, energy storage systems, or EV battery packs. Prior experience in setting up a new line/factory/assembly unit is highly preferred . Experience with battery diagnostics, repurposing, or BMS integration is a strong advantage .
