Job Description

Responsible to own and monitor execution of timetable of the assigned Cambridge
Primary/Early Year Class (Section).
Responsible and accountable to record attendance of the class.
Records attendance of the class in the system before start of the first period each working day.
Responsible to mark attendance of class of the paired teacher if the paired teacher is
absent. (Class teachers of the section are paired to act as backup to each other in event of
back of one for marking of attendance)
Informed absence is marked as leave and uninformed absence as absent.
Checks with parent if any child in class is absent beyond a day.
Responsible to coordinate with subject teachers for timely progress of the academic plan
for the class.
Is jointly responsible with the Coordinator/Head of Segment for monitoring progress of the
academic plans of the class. Works closely with the coordinator and assigned subject &
activity teachers so that the class is progressing with nil or minimal backlog in every
subject. This includes class work, homework, learning activities, project work and cyclic
tests.
Responsible to plans and executes field trips of the class.
Responsible to make detailed plan for field trip (2 per term) of the class and propose the
plan in the desired format.
Will inform parents details of the field trip and obtain their approval.
Will coordinate with various agencies (internal and external) for successful conduct of the
field trip.
Responsible for delight of class parents by proactive and empathetic interaction.
Is officially the first point of contact for class parents. Has to receive calls from class
parents after class hours (reasonable hours) and on school holidays (Voice, Text
messages, WhatsApp group of class parents). Will develop confidence in parents by being
empathetic and responsive to any issues about safety and development of the child.
Responsible to interact with new parents of the grade during the Parent Orientation
Program (POP) organized by coordinator. Has to educate parents of the Curriculum
overview, homework schedule, various assessments and weightage for scores, various
personality development programs. Get the parents to understand the responsibilities of
both the partners (school and parents) in the joint effort of holistic development of the child.
Accountable and responsible to interact with few parents of the class on a daily basis and
ensure that parent(s) of every child in the class have been interacted with at least once in
every month. Records details in the call log system for monitoring by school.
Prepare well for the Parent Teacher Meetings (PTMs) in terms of Touch stone
reports and Points for Discussion for each child. Collate the curriculum overview for
the class with inputs from individual subject teachers for sharing same with the parents.
Responsible to advise the parents about the options for Physical Education (PE) Activities
and to make the most appropriate choice of sport for their child.
Compile and send Weekly Transaction Report (WTR) listing progress of the class in the
week gone by and plans for the next week to all class parents.
Responsible and accountable for discipline and safety of the children when in the school campus.
