The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the distributor network and driving primary sales operations within the designated territory of Upper Assam, particularly Dibrugarh. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management within the Tea industry or FMCG sector, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets through effective distributor management. Key Responsibilities: Distributor Network Management: Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with distributors to ensure effective coverage and penetration in the assigned area. Sales Operations: Plan and oversee primary sales operations including order taking, dispatches, and timely delivery to meet customer demands. Sales Target Achievement: Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets in the region. Market Expansion: Identify new business opportunities, potential customers, and new routes to increase market share. Performance Monitoring: Monitor distributor performance, conduct regular field visits, and ensure compliance with company policies and targets. Team Coordination: Coordinate with the marketing and logistics teams to ensure product availability, promotional activities, and market feedback collection. Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports and analysis on sales trends, competitor activities, and market conditions for management review. Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Budget Management: Manage sales expenses and optimize resources to achieve cost efficiency. Training & Development: Provide guidance and training to distributors and sales staff to enhance their product knowledge and selling skills. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in any discipline. 10-15 years of experience in sales, preferably in the Tea industry or FMCG food sector. Strong understanding of distributor management and primary sales operations. Proven ability to lead and motivate sales teams. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory. Result-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
