We are looking for an Associate Technical Director/Business Area (BA) Manager to lead our Sustainability Advisory (SA) teams in the Global Excellence Center (GEC) team supporting the global teams. The GEC Sustainability Advisory team enables clients across GBAs to achieve their sustainability ambition by providing front end expertise focused on strategy, performance management, and reporting, in operations and throughout the value chain. As an Associate Technical Director (ATD) or BA Manager of Sustainability Advisory, you will lead a team supporting our regional Sustainability Advisory teams across the globe, serving on project delivery teams for one (or several) of Arcadis sustainability capabilities (Sustainability Strategy and Program Design, Sustainability Measurement, Sustainability Goal Setting and Achievement Plans, Sustainability Reporting, Net Zero Strategy, Circularity, Nature and Biodiversity etc.) across a range of industries. Other roles includes This role can be in any Arcadis office in India with a preference for Bangalore or Mumbai. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: As ATD or BA Manager, Sustainability Advisory, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of sustainability-related projects ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management, and collaboration between Arcadis colleagues. The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate techno-managerial skills. They need to have the ability to lead client and project teams in the successful delivery of sustainability-related projects. Responsible for delivering team metrics in conjunction with the Discipline Director. Key interface with the Discipline Director and Service Delivery Manager for the performance of the team, development of capabilities, and progress on standardization and automation. Managerial Provide professional leadership in the Sustainability team (SA) at a management level, establishing and consolidating relationships with senior staff in BA offices, taking ownership for the delivery of the GECs technical capability, supporting the delivery of tasks or specialized components of projects. Plan and drive the development of Arcadis capability and capacity in the Sustainability team, aligned with Discipline-wide plans to meet project demands. Work with Talent Acquisition and Learning Development to ensure SA team needs are understood and plans to meet them are in place Support the GEC Discipline Director to achieve Discipline targets, team growth, and objectives. Establishing and consolidating relationships with senior staff in Business Area offices, taking ownership of the delivery and GECs technical capabilities. Early assessment of project and team risks and arriving with appropriate Corrective And Preventive Action (CAPA). Technical The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to lead project teams in the successful delivery of sustainability-related projects. This role requires experience with sustainability reporting and stakeholder engagement, ESG data management, and analytics. Direct experience supporting clients in reporting standards and rules such as CSRD, TCFD, ISSB, GRI, SEC climate risk disclosure rule, EU taxonomy; GHG emission calculation; science-based Based Targets; and decarbonization planning and modeling is highly desired. Producing ESG disclosures and other communications aligned with leading frameworks (e.g., CSRD, GRI, GRESB, ISSB / SASB, TCFD, CDP, DJSI, EcoVadis, PRI) Experience working on NetZero Strategy, Net Zero Target Setting, Decarbonisation Roadmaps, Carbon Offsetting Strategies, and Third Party Verification. Designing ESG performance targets and accompanying strategies and achievement plans, and measurement and reporting of ESG metrics such as for energy, GHG, water, and waste. Support delivery of sustainability materiality assessment projects including performing research and participating in stakeholder engagement and analysis. Structure and perform analyses of data and other information to uncover insights that will inform the development of sales proposals and the design of consulting solutions. Prepare reports and presentations that can be incorporated into sales proposals and client presentations. Planning and carrying out assigned project work to deliver defined project outcomes, manage meetings, engage client stakeholders, and deliver project objectives. Providing quality assurance and coaching emerging professionals to improve analytical and delivery skills. Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and identify sell-on opportunities to generate additional services and enhance client satisfaction, and contributing to proposal development activities Tracking schedules, deliverables, budget, and staffing on multiple projects Specify and carry out research within client organizations and externally to identify and collect relevant data and information. Present the outcomes of analyses at team and client meetings to ensure the insights gained are clearly communicated and propose ways in which these may be leveraged to add value. Desired experience: Bachelors Degree in the relevant field of study such as environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or business with a sustainability background or related field Minimum of 13 years of professional experience; including 3 years of experience in sustainability or management consulting Successful track record of contributing to the growth and development of a ESG consulting delivery team in a sustainability services business. Passionate about sustainability and have proven, relevant experience at a senior level, including helping organizations set strategies across the range of ESG Reporting frameworks. Instrumental in building and managing a commercial ESG Reporting service offering within a professional services environment, focusing on external clients. Direct line management experience and have ideally led and developed a junior and or mid-level consulting team. Fluent and confident report writer with experience in technical reviewing the work of others and confident in understanding and applying quality and governance standards. Effective project management, client relationship management and commercial skills, Strong management consulting, client relationship, and project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. This role is contributing to the HR function based out in Bangalore. You will be mainly accountable for: Policy and Process Improvement by developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes documentation to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency in ESG reporting. Data Analysis and Insights by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to HR sustainability metrics (e.g., diversity, equity, inclusion, employee well-being). Ensuring accurate and compliant reporting of HR-related figures in alignment with ESG definitions and global standards such as ESRS, GRI, SASB, and TCFD, translating data into meaningful insights for disclosures.. Working closely with internal stakeholders (HR, sustainability, compliance, and executive teams) and external partners (auditors, consultants, and regulators) to ensure alignment on ESG objectives. Performing risk Assessment and Compliance by utilizing an audit mindset to collect, review, and document ESG-related data and processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and readiness for internal and external audit reviews. Developing trainings and workshops to promote understanding of ESG and sustainability principles impact across the organization. Qualifications for the role Bachelors degree in business administration, Sustainability, HR Management, or a related field (Master's preferred), Certification in ESG or sustainability reporting (e.g., GRI Standards, SASB Certification) is a plus. Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and HRIS systems and knowledge of ESG reporting standards and frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, etc.). Experience in a business analyst role, preferably with exposure to sustainability or ESG-related initiatives along with experience in HR departments or cross-functional teams focused on employee well-being and sustainability programs is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in preparing reports and presentations for executive-level stakeholders along with strong interpersonal skills to engage and influence diverse teams. Ability to analyze complex datasets and generate actionable insights with a strategic mindset with the ability to link HR practices to sustainability and ESG objectives.
