You will be joining Morgan Stanley Home Loans as an Assistant Vice President, Business Control and Assessment professional. In this role, you will report to the VP MSHL Business Control Unit (BCU) and will be responsible for reviewing and confirming 1st and 2nd Line Credit Quality Control (QC) Team testing results to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, processes, and programs aimed at preventing violations of roles or regulations. Your key responsibilities will include confirming exceptions identified by Credit QC testing results, working with Business Units and Credit QC Team on cures/fixes or remediation of findings, collaborating with Risk Partners such as Legal or Compliance to resolve issues, supporting Business Unit owners in addressing control failures for root cause analysis, and implementing tactical and strategic solutions and controls. You will also monitor the execution of remediation, perform reconciliations, manage projects to remediate process or control gaps, and prepare risk management updates for Senior Management. To succeed in this role, you should have 6-9 years of Underwriting Experience with a preference for non-conforming loan experience. A strong understanding of the end-to-end mortgage process and products, knowledge of Mortgage and Federal Regulations, underwriting and credit risk principles, and exceptional problem-solving abilities are required. You should be able to efficiently analyze data, create value-added reporting, and have strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight timelines. Proficiency in MS Office tools, project management skills, and strong communication skills are essential. Experience with Compliance exception tracking tools and Tableau is a plus.
