Conduct performance analysis and tuning activities for Mainframe systems , including CPU utilization , memory management , I/O throughput , and response times . Monitor system performance metrics and analyze performance data to identify bottlenecks, trends, and areas for optimization. Collaborate with development teams, system administrators, and architects to design, implement, and tune Mainframe applications and subsystems for optimal performance. Develop and execute performance testing plans, including workload modeling , benchmarking , and capacity planning , to ensure systems can handle expected loads and peak demands. Implement performance monitoring tools and automated processes to proactively detect and address performance issues before they impact users or business operations. Provide recommendations and solutions for improving system performance, scalability, and reliability based on performance analysis findings. Work closely with vendors and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues in Mainframe software , hardware, and network components. Document performance tuning activities, best practices, and guidelines for internal reference and knowledge sharing. Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and techniques in Mainframe performance engineering and share knowledge within the team. The ideal candidate for the Mainframe CICS Admin role should possess the following experience and qualifications: Experience in the upgrade/installation of CICS Transaction Servers, zCEE, CICS PA, and other vendor products (CAFC), including maintenance through periodic application of FIX packs. Proficiency in installation and tuning processes and procedures for CICS webservices, CICSplex System manager, JVM Servers, and Angels stated tasks to ensure all CICS services and infrastructures meet operational targets. Self-sufficiency to perform most tasks independently without assistance. Good understanding of monitoring and administrative tools such as Omegamon, Sysview, or their equivalents for support purposes. Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and provide administrative solutions as needed. Working knowledge of System z communications and Systems Network Architecture (SNA) concepts. Capability to interpret and utilize assembler output listings effectively. Monitoring of the ticketing tool to resolve incidents and requests within agreed SLAs. Willingness to adapt to weekend support on a rotational basis for planned changes and client system support 24/7. Requirements for success in this role include: Strong problem-solving skills, accountability, and responsibility in troubleshooting, researching, and resolving application issues. Utilization of system diagnostic tools like CA SYSVIEW/Omegamon/Mainview, Fault Analyzer, and CICS PA for problem resolution, as well as hands-on experience in CICS SSL Setup Troubleshooting. Understanding of CICS Application Architecture (CMAS/MRO and NON MRO), design, and maintenance for analyzing architecture and security issues, and performing advanced troubleshooting for CICS connections from CICS to Off-host DataPower, WAS, JAVA. Proficiency in z/OS Job Control Language (JCL). Experience with tools such as Service Now for Incident/Change Management and BMC Remedy On-Demand Tool. The Mainframe CICS Admin should also ensure documentation of all Disaster Recovery (DR) related operational processes and procedures.,

Role & responsibilities • 7 to 14 Years of Experience in Mainframe IMS System Programming. • Experience with IMS system software and related program products software. installation, migrations, customization and maintenance. • Must have experience with SMP/E maintenance utility, DBMS security interfaces, familiar with DBMS connection interfaces to other subsystems (DB2/CICS/etc) and network VTAM/IP functionality. • Experience in IMS backup and recovery scenarios - traditional image copy, FLASH, mirroring etc., methodology. • Plan and perform Health Checks and Analysis • Very good knowledge of IMS database organization • Performance analysis & tuning for DBMS subsystems • IMS Monitoring Tool- Proficient- Required Monitoring tool • Proficient in JCL, TSO/SDSF/JES2/SYSVIEW/SMP/E • Ability to debug & diagnose DBMS system and utility software • Requires IMS Sysplex experience & data sharing expertise • Various types of IMS restarts (COLD/WARM/ERE). • Knowledge about IMS SYSGEN process - Defining/Adding Transactions and Programs to the IMS system.
