Systems Software Security Developer C, C++, Security Protocols

The Systems Software Security Developer will design, develop, and maintain secure software for HPE Nonstop's security product portfolio. The role includes implementing security protocols, applying cryptography, integrating with enterprise authentication frameworks, and supporting the full product development lifecycle.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and enhance software for Nonstop's security products, including SSL, SSH, IPSEC, and cryptography features.
• Participate in the full product lifecycle: specification, architecture, design, implementation, testing, integration, and maintenance.
• Analyze designs, determine coding and integration activities, and write and execute complete test plans.
• Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to define functional specifications and system architecture.
• Apply subject matter expertise to solve technical problems and recommend alternatives when necessary.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers, ensuring high-quality software components.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding design, status, and issue resolution for assigned scope.

What You Need to Bring:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 4+ years of professional experience in software development for secure systems on Linux/UNIX.
• Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages; advanced C/C++ programming and scripting skills.
• Strong knowledge of security concepts: authentication, access control, auditing, ciphers, cryptography, key management.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing security products/features (SSL, SSH, IPSEC).
• Good understanding of secure software design and programming principles.
• Fundamentals of operating system and/or networking concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with software systems testing methodology: writing and executing test plans, debugging, and using testing scripts/tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
