Systems Software Security Developer C, C++, Security Protocols

The Systems Software Security Engineer will design, develop, and test secure software products and subsystems, including operating systems, networking, utilities, and databases. The role focuses on implementing security features, debugging code, and ensuring high-quality software solutions across Linux/UNIX platforms.

What You'll Do:

• Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, and databases.
• Analyze designs and determine coding, programming, and integration activities required based on project guidelines and objectives.
• Execute and write portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned applications; identify and debug issues with code and suggest improvements.
• Participate as a member of project teams, collaborating with software engineers and internal/external development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions.
• Apply software systems testing methodologies, including executing test plans, debugging, and using testing scripts and tools.
• Work independently and collaboratively across teams to meet project goals.

What You Need to Bring:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of professional experience in software development with exposure to security products/features (SSL, SSH, IPSEC) on Linux/UNIX systems.
• Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages, with advanced C/C++ programming and scripting skills.
• Strong understanding of security concepts such as authentication, access control, auditing, ciphers, cryptography, and key management.
• Familiarity with system-level programming and OS internals.
• Good understanding of secure software design and programming principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
