Systems Software Engineer

The Systems Software Engineer is responsible for validating broadband and routing software features through detailed manual and automated testing. The role focuses on protocol-level validation, feature qualification, automation development, and supporting customer and field escalations for carrier-grade networking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Feature Testing & Validation

• Develop, execute, and automate comprehensive feature test plans for BRAS protocols including PPPoE, DHCP, L2TP, IPv6, Multicast, and SNMP.
• Validate L2/L3 networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VPLS, QoS, Policy, and PPP based on detailed functional requirements.
• Design test scenarios aligned with real-world deployment and customer use cases.

Requirements & Documentation Review

• Review Market Requirements Documents, Product Description Documents, and Functional Specifications to ensure complete test coverage.
• Partner with technical publications teams to review and validate feature documentation accuracy.

Automation & Tools

• Build and maintain advanced automation frameworks using scripting and programming languages.
• Execute scale, performance, and protocol validation using industry-standard test tools.

Beta & Field Support

• Support beta programs by validating features, triaging issues, and assisting in feature adoption.
• Respond to customer escalations, field engineering queries, and technical support requests.

Knowledge Sharing & Technical Enablement

• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing sessions and technical forums.
• Mentor team members in assigned protocol and testing domains.
• Deliver technical presentations to system testing teams on feature behavior and validation results.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Experience

• BE, ME, or MCA in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related discipline.
• 58 years of experience in product or system testing focused on BRAS and L2/L3 networking technologies.
