Job Description

The Software Development Engineer will design, develop, and maintain control plane software for next-generation networking platforms based on JUNOS Evolved infrastructure. The role involves building high-performance, reliable system software components for routers and switches, working on complex networking and operating system challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Software Design & Development

Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug control plane software for networking platforms.
Build system-level software components for routers, switches, and networking infrastructure.
Implement enhancements and new features in C/C++ for large-scale, high-performance systems.

Systems & Platform Engineering

Develop software on Linux-based platforms with strong interaction with operating system services.
Apply data structures and algorithms to solve performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
Ensure software compatibility with hardware platforms and influence system-level design decisions.

Problem Solving & Optimization

Analyze complex technical problems and propose efficient design alternatives.
Debug issues across system software layers including OS, networking stack, and platform services.
Improve stability and performance of distributed networking systems.

Team & Technical Leadership

Act as a technical contributor or project lead for assigned components.
Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers within the team.
Participate in design discussions and technical reviews for platform evolution.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
69 years of experience in system or networking software development.
