Systems Design Integrator

As a System Design Integrator at Rolls-Royce, you will play a crucial role in shaping the Defence business in India by supporting key programme milestones aligned with the Defence Combat strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to design innovative and high-performance Gas Turbine designs that balance product attributes to meet customer needs. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and utilize tools like PLM, CAD (NX), Systems Engineering, and Robust design to deliver cost-effective solutions considering the full product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate across engineering disciplines to define, manage, and meet interdependencies between subsystems/product systems to meet project requirements. - Design systems using Systems Engineering principles and Robust design tools & techniques to achieve optimum solutions at the product and sub-system level. - Apply understanding of gas turbine product operation, product systems, sub-systems, and interactions while integrating and managing interfaces. - Define mechanical and functional systems, product systems, sub-systems; planning and managing product change. - Support risk assessments and maintain technical responsibility through the approval process. Qualifications: - 3-15 years of experience with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering; other qualifications with relevant experience may be considered. - A broad understanding of Gas Turbine physical and functional characteristics would be advantageous. - Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies with an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts including manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, and cost engineering. - Ability to exchange complex technical ideas and information concisely and logically over a wide range of topics. - Highly numerate with strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and capable of systems-level thinking. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to contribute effectively in a team environment.
