This position is based in Australia at one of Australia's leading research and teaching universities - UNSW. The School of Psychology at UNSW is known for its excellence in research and teaching, offering world-class undergraduate psychology degrees, postgraduate professional Masters training, online Graduate Diploma programs, and a PhD research program. The School is recognized nationally and internationally for its research in various areas of Psychology. As a key member of the Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing in the School of Psychology at UNSW, you will be contributing to a project focused on Cognitive decline and decision-making. This role involves analyzing cohort studies to develop knowledge outcomes in cognitive-aging and decision-making related to health, finances, and care in later life. A significant aspect of the work includes examining how demographic factors impact cognitive decline and poor decision-making. About the Role: - Salary: $113k - $121k plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading - Employment Type: Fixed Term for 2 years - Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) - Reporting to: Professor Kaarin Anstey Responsibilities for this role include: - Advanced statistical analysis of large observational studies - Systematic reviews of relevant literature and conducting meta-analyses - Leading and contributing to manuscripts, reports, and policy briefs - Data governance and management of relevant projects - Conducting research activities independently or as part of a team - Developing independent research proposals - Contributing to competitive funding applications - Mentoring and guiding research assistants, students, and colleagues - Adhering to the Code of Conduct and Values and health and safety policies To be successful in this role, you will need: - A PhD in Psychology or statistical methods - Interest and experience in cognitive ageing research - Advanced statistical analysis skills - Track record in research with high-quality outcomes - Strong communication and networking skills - Ability to work in a team and build effective relationships - Interpersonal and organizational skills - Commitment to UNSW's objectives and values - Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities To apply for this position, please address the selection criteria listed within the position description in your application by the closing date of August 28th, 2025.
