The successful candidate will perform mainframe zOS operating System upgrades (V2.5 and V3.1) using SMPE and zOS workflows, ISV product upgrades/maintenance apply for zOS compatibility to support our customers’ mainframe environments and ensure contractual obligations are met. The individual will need to work with vendor personnel to achieve timely upgrades of zOS, ISV products before end of support. You are looking for a Mainframe Db2 DBA with 6-8 years of experience to join our team in Chennai, Pune, or Bangalore. As a Mainframe Application DBA / System Programmer, you will be responsible for maintaining the Mainframe Database architecture and concepts. You will work closely with vendors, application teams, and troubleshoot application issues. Your role will involve handling Mainframe Database offline & online Utilities, ISV tools like BMC and CA products, System Upgrades, Migration activities, SMP/e tools, and JCL concepts. Additionally, you will contribute to Performance monitoring, ITIL processes, and Disaster Recovery activities. Your must-have competencies include a strong understanding of Mainframe & Database Architecture, Mainframe Database concepts, JCL, and Performance monitoring tools. You should have experience in dealing with various vendors, application teams, and hold hands-on knowledge in Mainframe Database utilities. Being customer-facing, you should possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies. Mainframe Storage Systems Programmer Position Summary Provide premium Mainframe Storage system programming support and services to Ensono mainframe clients. The successful candidate will work on storage infrastructure administration, configuration, and installation. This encompasses DASD, tape, virtual tape, encryption, and replication for backup and DR capabilities. The associate will perform software and hardware refreshes, customer migrations and daily customer support. Key Areas of Focus for this Role Fulfill customer service requests for mainframe customers in a timely manner as they pertain to Mainframe Storage administration and related products Provide DASD and tape storage administration support for our customers. Manage storage pools for multiple customers and LPARs. Perform problem diagnostics and resolution. Create and oversee jobs for daily, weekly, and monthly backups. Participate in Data Center migration projects using multiple methodologies. Perform data and volume recovery. Perform data migrations between storage frames for existing customers. Interact with hardware and software vendors as required. Follow procedures for customizing Mainframe Storage related ISV products efficiently and according to best practices and Ensono standards (for productivity/scalability purposes). Provide primary support for reported problems related to Mainframe Storage and related software products Provide support on 24 x 7 x 365 basis across multiple time zones. Provide key support for customer migration services (new customer transitions) as they pertain to Mainframe Storage and related OEM software products. Provide primary support for reported problems related to Mainframe Storage DASD and Tape Systems Communicate to both customer and management the status of issues at intervals during resolution process. Maintain documentation of issue cause, action, and resolution in the designated problem tracking system. Assist the assigned project manager in the migration of newly acquired customers such that all technical hurdles are addressed in a timely manner and do not impede the expected progress of the transition nor the targeted migration date. In joint co-operation with the Disaster Recovery Services and other technical teams, successfully execute tasks associated with any given customer’s disaster recovery plans. Aid and assist other mainframe teams as required to support them and our clients. Adhere to a schedule that efficiently manages resources and allows timely implementations. Experience in preparing and implementing Disaster Recovery plans Expert knowledge of catalog structures, LPAR sysplexes, and resource sharing. Extensive knowledge of DASD hardware configurations incorporating replication. Extensive skills with IBM and Oracle/STK tape hardware and software. Ability to analyze performance on DASD and tape subsystems. Extensive skills with CA-1, MIMTape. Functional skills with Dell/EMC. Functional skills with RMM, TLMS, GRS, Tapecopy, and SMF. Experience in customization of Mainframe Storage related ISV software products Experience using various system monitoring software in problem determination, particularly for performance/response problems related to Mainframe Storage Ability to develop innovation, strategies, processes, and best practices in software management Support planned (disaster recovery) and unplanned (emergency) database recovery activities Knowledgeable in best practices of software management, maintenance, and documentation Experience with establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, DR, security, maintenance, and utilization Ability to evaluate change requests and determine impact to assigned clients and troubleshooting and solving production database issues. Other Qualifications Self-motivated and able to work independently. Strong analytical skills required for quick problem determination and isolation of root cause with emphasis on required recovery actions to minimize impact to client business.
