We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Chemist with a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry and at least 5 years of hands-on experience in laboratory research and development. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in organic synthesis, process development , and delivery system optimization such as Liposomes, NLCs (Nanostructured Lipid Carriers), and other encapsulation techniques . This role will focus on supporting innovative R&D initiatives, lab-scale synthesis of active ingredients, and contributing to formulation and delivery system enhancement for cosmetic or specialty chemical applications. Key Responsibilities: Perform multistep organic synthesis and reaction optimization on lab scale Operate and maintain various lab reactors (glass, stainless steel, jacketed) Handle and calibrate lab instruments such as rotary evaporators, vacuum pumps, stirrers, pH meters, ovens, etc. Conduct product purification using distillation, crystallization, extraction, and chromatography Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, batch records, and lab observations Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, GLP/GMP norms Support scale-up processes and pilot plant trials when required Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as QA/QC, production, and regulatory affairs Develop and optimize advanced delivery systems including Liposomes, NLCs, micro/nanoencapsulation technologies for active ingredients Required Skills: In-depth knowledge of organic reaction mechanisms and synthetic strategies Strong experience with hazardous chemicals and lab safety protocols Working familiarity with analytical techniques such as TLC, HPLC, GC, and FTIR Capability to independently manage multiple R&D projects Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and scientific documentation skills Preferred Experience: Prior work in chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or specialty ingredient R&D labs Exposure to delivery system development for actives (Liposomes, NLCs, etc.) is highly preferred Experience with pilot plant operations and process scale-up

Role & responsibilities Conduct synthesis and process development experiments under the guidance of R&D scientists. Prepare reagents, carry out reactions, and monitor processes using TLC, HPLC, GC, NMR, and other tools. Record experimental procedures and results meticulously in lab notebooks and data sheets. Support scale-up trials from gram to kilogram scale; assist in transferring processes to pilot/manufacturing. Work on a range of chemistries including esters, surfactants, polymer intermediates, and fi ne chemicals. Assist in analytical method development, sample submissions, and customer evaluations. Maintain lab hygiene, safety protocols, and raw material inventory. Preferred candidate profile B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or Chemical Sciences. 13 years of hands-on lab experience in a chemical or specialty chemical R&D setup. Exposure to synthesis, reaction monitoring, and basic analytical techniques. Basic understanding of scale-up challenges and process parameters. Good documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
