The Operations Manager will lead all factory operations, supervise technicians, drive daily production execution, and ensure world-class quality and workflow discipline. This role is responsible for the complete assembly lifecycle—from container modification, electrical integration, and cooling installation to QA, packaging, and FE readiness. The Operations Manager is the core execution leader ensuring that every pod is delivered on time and built to U.S. standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Factory Setup and Operational Management Lead the setup of a 15,000–20,000 sq ft modular data center manufacturing facility. Define and maintain workflow zones for electrical, cooling, mechanical, assembly, and QA areas. Ensure factory organization, cleanliness, safety, and readiness for customer and investor visits. 2. Production Planning and Execution Plan and execute the production cycle for 1–2 pods per month. Translate the engineering BOM into actionable work packages for technicians. Maintain production schedules, daily task assignments, and progress tracking. Identify bottlenecks early and resolve them to protect delivery timelines. 3. Technical Oversight (Electrical, Cooling, Mechanical) Supervise installation and integration of UPS systems, battery banks, transformers, power panels, PDUs, and grounding networks. Oversee cooling installation including DX in-row units, refrigerant piping, brazing, nitrogen testing, and condenser integration. Direct mechanical tasks such as insulation, paneling, raised flooring, tray installation, and containment fit-out. 4. Quality Control and FAT Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing including: Insulation resistance tests Continuity checks Load bank testing (10–20 kW) Cooling performance validation Fire system continuity checks Ensure all pods meet FE readiness requirements before shipment. Maintain detailed QA documentation and sign-off. 5. Team Leadership and Workforce Management Supervise a team of 5–7 technicians (electrical, cooling, fabrication). Provide training, enforce safety practices, and maintain high workplace discipline. Ensure efficient utilization of resources, tools, and labor. 6. Vendor and Supply Chain Coordination Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to track incoming materials, OEM deliveries, and critical-path items. Verify received materials (UPS, transformers, cooling systems, panels) and ensure correct installation. Coordinate with external vendors for service support when required. 7. Compliance, Safety, and Documentation Ensure NEC-style wiring layout, labeling, conduit routing, and grounding. Enforce safety protocols including electrical safety, refrigerant handling, and PPE standards. Maintain checklists, production reports, and work logs for internal audit and FE documentation. 8. Export and Shipment Preparation Oversee final pod preparation including sealing, finishing, labeling, and crate/transport readiness. Coordinate loading, packing, and container dispatch with the Admin/Export Coordinator. Qualifications Educational Background Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. This role is responsible for converting customer requirements into complete electrical, cooling, and mechanical designs for 20 ft and 40 ft modular data center containers intended for export to the United States. The ideal candidate has deep experience in data center infrastructure, industrial electrical systems, and precision cooling, and can produce engineering documentation to support Intertek Field Evaluation (FE) and U.S.-market compliance. Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End Pod Architecture Develop complete technical designs for 60–500 kW modular pods. Translate customer specifications into detailed engineering packages. Define power distribution, cooling systems, rack layout, airflow, containment, and redundancy paths. 2. Electrical Design Produce single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, and panel schedules. Size and specify UPS systems, battery banks, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, breakers, cables, and grounding. Perform cable sizing, load calculations, and coordination studies. Ensure all electrical designs follow NEC-style best practices and FE readiness requirements. 3. Cooling and Thermal Design Select and size in-row precision cooling systems and related condenser units. Create refrigerant piping diagrams, airflow layouts, and thermal load analyses. Integrate controls (Carel, Danfoss, EC fans) and ensure cooling designs match IT load and environmental conditions. 4. Fire and Safety Engineering Determine FM-200/HFC-227ea suppression agent volumes and nozzle layouts. Integrate fire detection and control systems with the pod architecture. 5. Documentation and Compliance Prepare complete engineering documentation: Bills of materials Understand export compliance with UL, CE, ETL, BiS, etc Specification sheets Installation drawings FE documentation Labeling and routing schedules Maintain standardized pod templates and SKUs for repeatable manufacturing.
