The opportunity: We are seeking an engaging and driven individual to lead the power quality R&D team with a focus on software, communications, and digital solutions. Your team comprises highly skilled developers and technical experts primarily engaged in software, firmware, and communication activities. You will play a significant role in the Grid & Power Quality Solutions department and report directly to the Global R&D Manager for Power Quality. This position offers visibility within a truly global and cross-functional environment that operates at the forefront of technology. How you'll make an impact: - Coach and guide your team towards achieving business targets. - Drive continuous improvements and operational development, contributing to and spearheading long-term strategic initiatives. - Take charge of developing the team's competence and work processes. - Serve as a positive role model for your team by embodying our vision, delivering on promises, and fostering people development. - Ensure compliance with relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. - Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity by taking accountability for your actions, demonstrating care for your colleagues, and prioritizing the business. Your background: - Hold a university degree in a relevant field such as electrical, software, industrial engineering, or a similar discipline. - Possess a background and comprehension of software and/or firmware within industrial applications. - Knowledge of Cyber Security requirements is advantageous. - Experience in power systems, particularly in FACTS/HVDC/Substations, and familiarity with SW/control/digital solutions is considered a merit. - Additional experience with MACH, MicroSCADA, IEC61850 is a plus. - Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
