Surfacing/Lookdev Artist

Role Overview: As a Surfacing/Lookdev Artist at our company, you will be responsible for creating photorealistic textures and developing the look for various assets, including hard surface and organic models, environments, hero creature work, and character work. Your key tasks will include creating textures, assembling them into shading networks, and collaborating with artists and supervisors in modeling, shading, and lighting during the look development process. Key Responsibilities: - Creating photorealistic textures, both hand-painted and from set photography, to the required level of detail for hero CG assets - Assembling textures into a shading network and adjusting lookdev to accurately match the references - Working independently on defined tasks and collaborating with team members in modeling, shading, and lighting Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience - Previous high-end production experience in visual effects for live-action feature films or television - Hands-on experience with Mari essential, Photoshop, ZBrush, and Mudbox (a plus) - Working knowledge of Maya is essential, while experience with 3ds Max, V-Ray, and Nuke is advantageous - Clear understanding of color space, shading, lighting, and rendering methodologies - Familiarity with digital photography About the Company: Scanline VFX is an award-winning leader in the visual effects industry with 7 studios worldwide, including London, Los Angeles, Montreal, Seoul, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Vancouver.
