Purpose of the role: The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and ensuring that all financial transactions comply with BMZ and international donor standards. This role will work closely with the Finance Officer to ensure timely financial reporting and alignment with project goals. Key Responsibilities : Financial Management : Ø Oversee the project’s financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and budget management of several project partners / locations Ø Ensure that financial activities are recorded in accordance with BMZ (international donor’s) financial requirements. Ø Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the project and oversee the submission of the final financial report. Local TVET Centers will develop the report, and the accountant will be responsible for consolidating all financial information and managing the timeline and quality. Ø Monitor the project budget and ensure expenses are within the allocated amounts. Ø Assist in preparing financial reports for submission to Don Bosco Mondo and other stakeholders. Ø Work with the Project Coordinator and Finance Officer to ensure seamless coordination of financial activities with project implementation. Ø Participate in financial planning and strategy meetings. Ø Collaborate with the Finance Officer to track budget utilization and forecast financial needs. Compliance & Documentation : Ø Ensure all financial activities comply with BMZ and donor-specific financial guidelines. Ø Maintain accurate and detailed records of project expenditures and income. Ø Participate in internal and external audits as required. Financial Reporting : Ø Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with donor requirements.
