The Assistant Machine Operator supports the Machine Operator in the operation and maintenance of UV and 1 over 1 perfecting printing machines. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth production by assisting with machine setups, monitoring print quality, maintaining operational efficiency, and performing routine maintenance tasks. Key Responsibilities: Machine Support: Assist the Machine Operator with the setup, operation, and monitoring of UV or 1 over 1 perfecting printing machines. Help load materials and check machine settings to ensure proper alignment during the printing process. Support the operator in ensuring the printing process runs smoothly and efficiently. Quality Assurance: Monitor print quality during production and notify the Machine Operator of any defects or inconsistencies. Assist with adjustments and calibrations to ensure high-quality prints. Ensure that printed materials meet required quality standards. Maintenance & Cleanliness: Assist in routine cleaning of printing machines and equipment to ensure proper maintenance. Help troubleshoot minor issues with machinery and notify the supervisor if any major problems arise. Ensure that the work area and equipment are kept clean and well-maintained. Production Assistance: Support the machine operator by ensuring that materials are stocked and ready for upcoming production runs. Ensure smooth transitions between different jobs, including the loading and unloading of printed materials. Help manage workflow to ensure efficiency and meet production deadlines. Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure that UV inks and other materials are handled safely and according to established safety standards. Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and contribute to a culture of safety. Skills & Qualifications: Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or training in printing processes or UV technology is a plus. Experience: Prior experience in a printing environment is preferred but not required. Familiarity with UV or 1 over 1 perfecting printing processes is a plus. Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of machine operation and print quality monitoring. Ability to assist with troubleshooting and perform routine maintenance tasks. Familiarity with UV ink systems and printing materials. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Ability to work well in a team and take direction.
