The Global Category Management specialist role involves driving Global Consolidation, strategic sourcing, management, and optimization of HW, SW, DC, Telecom, Outsourcing, services portfolio. Your responsibilities include developing and executing category strategies to maximize value, mitigate risk, and align with business objectives. You will lead negotiations for contracts, licenses, and renewals to achieve optimal pricing and service levels while monitoring supplier performance and mitigating risks associated with software vendors and contracts. Additionally, you will communicate category strategies, sourcing decisions, and performance updates to key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies based on market analysis and business needs - Drive strategic consolidation while considering regional requirements - Identify key market trends and analyze the supplier landscape within the software industry - Lead negotiations for contracts, licenses, and renewals - Conduct regular supplier reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives - Communicate category strategies and sourcing decisions to key stakeholders - Act as a subject matter expert on software category management Required Skills & Competencies: - Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage diverse situations - 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement - Deep understanding of pricing and licensing models of leading OEMs - Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills - Proven track record of managing significant spending and delivering cost savings - Knowledge of relevant software procurement tools and technologies - Ability to navigate diverse legal and cultural negotiation styles - Ability to analyze complex data for global consolidation and cost optimization Experience & Qualifications: - Certified Procurement Manager (CPM/CPSM) or equivalent certification - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field; Master's degree preferred - 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement with a focus on software - Deep understanding of licensing and pricing models - Knowledge of relevant procurement tools and technologies Category Management will collaborate with other domains to drive improvements, optimization, and value engineering initiatives.
