As the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), your role is crucial in leading and optimizing all procurement activities including strategic sourcing, supplier management, master data governance, and logistics. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of materials and services across multiple locations. You will be expected to build a high-performing team, drive digital transformation, and leverage supplier intelligence to support organizational goals effectively. Your key responsibilities will include developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with annual and long-term plans, managing the procurement budget, and identifying cost-reduction opportunities. You will lead category analyses such as raw materials, MRO, and packaging to establish RFQ/Tender/ARC/catalogue approaches. Ensuring accuracy and consistency of procurement master data, implementing data governance policies, designing and structuring the procurement function, and building a capable team will be essential aspects of your role. Moreover, you will define and enforce policies, SOPs, templates, and workflows for end-to-end procurement, oversee purchase-order processing, inbound logistics coordination, and inventory management. It will be important to implement digital procurement tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy. Additionally, gathering and analyzing market and supplier data, establishing and maintaining strategic supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, identifying supply-chain risks, and promoting safety and environmental standards within procurement and logistics operations will be key areas of focus. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or B.Sc., an MBA in Operations/Supply Chain is highly desirable, along with professional certifications such as CPSM or CSCM. You should have 15-18 years of experience in procurement/supply-chain within manufacturing, ideally metals/industrial products, and 5-7 years in a senior procurement leadership role in a mid-sized organization. Technical knowledge in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and commodity markets, as well as strong IT skills in ERP, Excel/Google Sheets, and analytics tools, are also required. In addition to your educational background and technical expertise, personal attributes such as high integrity, strong leadership and team-building skills, excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities, willingness to travel frequently, and an analytical mindset will be essential for success in this role. Your ability to convert data into actionable strategies and drive sustainable procurement initiatives will be critical in achieving the organization's procurement goals.,
