As an Operation Shift In Charge at BALCO, Korba, Chhattisgarh with Siemens Energy on a full-time basis, you will have a challenging and impactful role. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the operation, maintenance, and safety of rectifier systems and Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations. This entails ensuring an uninterrupted power supply, optimizing equipment performance, and complying with regulatory standards. You will supervise the daily operations of EHV substations, handle switching operations, coordinate with load dispatch centers, monitor SCADA systems, and promptly respond to alarms and faults. Additionally, you will operate and maintain rectifier units to ensure voltage regulation, load sharing, and system reliability, as well as troubleshoot issues in the DC power system. Your role will involve effectively managing site manpower, contractor manpower, meeting customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and fulfilling customer requirements. Strict adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines is essential. You should also possess a thorough understanding of the latest industry safety standards, Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes, and be proficient in preparing EHS documents. You will be responsible for on-site planning and execution of periodic preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and troubleshooting capabilities of 400/220/132kV Power Transformer, Breaker, CT, PT, Control panel, Relays, ACDB, SCADA, Battery with Battery charger. Furthermore, you should have expertise in SCADA, protection systems, relay coordination, transformer diagnostics, voltage regulation, load sharing, and system reliability, along with troubleshooting DC power system issues. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, possess a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in Rectifier Operation & EHV substations Operation, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Proficiency in AIS/GIS substation configurations, MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoints is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation abilities, are essential. Sound knowledge of rectifier substation operation and maintenance activities, customer handling, and electrical troubleshooting is key. A Supervisory license would be advantageous. Manage Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements. Monitor usage of tools and equipment and ensure tools are readily available for assigned tasks. Establish, implement, train, and monitor maintenance guidelines for the maintenance teams. Assessing procedures and making recommendations for improvement. Support, comply, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures. Responsibility for budget control, spares management, site contracts management, and ongoing improvement of the maintenance systems. Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members. Good knowledge about MV/LV panels, transformers, cables, cable trays, switchgears etc. Should be able to study & understand SLD, GA, schematic dwgs & co-relate with site requirements. Role demands to be permanently stationed at site (across India) as a SPOC from Siemens side from site mobilization till O&M Contract handing over to Customer. Clear understanding of customer requirement with effective communication with all internal & external stakeholders. Should be aware about EHS practices & ensure all activities are carried out in line with EHS requirements. Should have in-depth knowledge & experience in unloading, lifting, shifting & installations of heavy equipment viz. transformers & panels. Should have good planning & problem-solving skills to ensure completion of activities as per Customer timelines. Have ability to independently handle complete site including Contractor manpower. Should be able to handle Customer escalations & perform in tougher situations. Good communication and conflict management skills. Monitor and follow-up on vendor activities, highlight potential delays. To ensure that corrective actions are taken to minimize/manage the delays/damages. Should prepare O&M bills & get approvals from Customer based on site progress. Should have knowledge about labour laws & HR compliances.
