Supervisor Machine Shop

As the Supervisor in this role, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities in the machine shop. Your key responsibilities will include: - Planning, scheduling, and assigning work to machinists, CNC operators, and other shop floor personnel to meet production goals and deadlines. - Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment. - Monitoring equipment operation and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations. - Overseeing the setup and operation of CNC machines, manual mills, lathes, and other shop equipment. - Maintaining production quality by enforcing standards, conducting inspections, and troubleshooting machining and quality issues. - Training and mentoring team members on best practices, machine operation, and safety. - Collaborating with engineering, quality assurance, and production planning teams to optimize processes. - Maintaining accurate records of production, downtime, and maintenance for reporting purposes. - Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste in the shop. Qualifications required for this role: - High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred. - 5+ years of experience in a machine shop environment, including supervisory experience. - Strong knowledge of CNC machining, manual machining, and machine shop practices. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T. - Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA.
