Job Summary:

Subtitle Editor

Key Responsibilities:

Create, edit, and proofread subtitles and captions for video content.
Ensure accurate timing, synchronization, and formatting.
Translate or QC translations if working on multilingual subtitles.
Maintain consistency in tone, style, and language.
Use subtitle editing software such as Happyscribe or similar.
Work closely with localization teams, video editors, and content producers.
Adhere to style guides and client-specific formatting standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience in subtitle editing or audiovisual translation.
Strong command of English (and other languages, if applicable).
Familiarity with common subtitle formats (.srt, .ass, .vtt, etc.).
Proficiency in subtitle editing tools Happyscribe, Maestra or similar.
High attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
Ability to work with tight deadlines and maintain quality.
Basic understanding of video formats and post-production processes is a plus.
