Job Purpose : To manage, coordinate, and execute all Electrical Balance of Plant (EBOP) activities related to the Power Supply System (PSS) for power plants in the 50MW to 200MW range. This includes design review, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the electrical systems ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient power delivery. Note: Male Candidates Only. Key Responsibilities : 1. Design & Engineering : Review and validate EBOP electrical designs including SLDs, control schematics, and protection schemes. Evaluate and approve the design of PSS components such as transformers, switchgear, UPS, battery systems, and auxiliary power systems. Ensure compliance with IEEE/IEC standards, grid code, and client specifications. Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, and consultants for PSS-related designs and FATs. 2. Procurement & Vendor Coordination : Prepare technical specifications and assist procurement in vendor evaluations for electrical equipment. Manage delivery schedules and quality inspection of electrical BOP components. Approve factory acceptance tests (FAT) for key equipment like HV/MV switchgear, transformers, etc. 3. Construction & Installation Supervision : Oversee site installation of EBOP systems switchgear, bus ducts, cables, transformers, lighting, grounding, etc. Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams to align electrical installation with plant infrastructure. Ensure proper routing, segregation, and termination of power and control cables. 4. Testing & Commissioning : Prepare test procedures and manage site acceptance testing (SAT) of EBOP and PSS equipment. Supervise protection relay testing, CT/PT ratio testing, insulation resistance, and functional checks. Coordinate energization activities and grid synchronization. 5. Operation & Maintenance Support : Establish maintenance protocols for PSS equipment in coordination with O&M teams. Analyze system events, disturbances, and trips to provide root cause analysis and preventive actions. Provide training to site O&M staff for EBOP equipment. Skills and Competencies : Strong understanding of power system protection, electrical design, and grid integration. Knowledge of SCADA, PLC, and substation automation systems (SAS). Familiarity with power plant auxiliary systems (MCCs, DGs, UPS, lighting, earthing). Excellent project coordination and stakeholder management skills. Ability to interpret electrical drawings and standards (IEC, IEEE, IS, etc.).
