Job Title: Contracts Engineer Job Description: As a Contracts Engineer, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of subcontracting and contract administration for construction activities. This includes drafting and negotiating contracts, evaluating subcontractor proposals, conducting rate analysis, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will work closely with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to facilitate efficient procurement, maintain cost control, and ensure timely project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Prepare, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and other procurement agreements. Ensure contracts align with project requirements, company standards, and legal regulations. Subcontractor Management: Coordinate the full subcontracting process: invite quotations and profiles, evaluate offers, and award contracts. Conduct detailed analysis of subcontractor proposals to ensure value for money and compliance with project scope. Finalize agreements in line with organizational procurement policies and project timelines. Rate Analysis & Cost Optimization: Perform comprehensive rate analysis for various construction activities including civil, structural, and finishing works. Research current market rates, negotiate with vendors, and analyze cost trends to identify cost-saving opportunities. Vendor & Relationship Management: Manage subcontractor relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and project alignment. Address and resolve issues, claims, and disputes to maintain productive partnerships. Facilitate regular communication with vendors to monitor deliverables and support continuous improvement. To plan, coordinate, and monitor subcontracting activities in alignment with overall project schedules for the manufacturing of heat exchangers and pressure vessels. The role ensures timely outsourcing and delivery of fabricated components by closely working with vendors, SCM, and internal departments to support on-time project execution. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to identify subcontracting requirements as per project timelines. Prepare and maintain detailed schedules for outsourced activities such as fabrication, machining, and surface treatment. Raise RFQs support in technical evaluations and order finalization. Follow up with subcontractors to track delivery milestones and ensure adherence to committed timelines. Monitor the progress of outsourced work through site visits, virtual coordination, and periodic reporting. Assist in resolving bottlenecks, quality issues, or material shortages impacting outsourced work. Ensure that subcontracted activities align with overall manufacturing and project plans. Prepare and maintain MIS reports, subcontractor performance metrics, and delivery dashboards. Support project teams with delay analysis, recovery plans, and rescheduling when required. Collaborate with the QA/QC team to align inspection schedules with delivery plans. Qualifications and Experience: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering . Min.4 years of experience in planning and subcontracting functions in a heavy engineering/manufacturing setup. Exposure to manufacturing processes of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and knowledge of relevant codes (ASME, TEMA, etc.). Working knowledge of planning tools/software (MS Project, Primavera preferred), ERP systems, and MS Excel.
