specialising Job Description: We are looking for a technically strong and experienced Mechanical Site Engineer to join our project execution team, specialising in steel plant construction, shutdown, and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate should have 48 years of hands-on experience in executing mechanical works such as fabrication, erection, and maintenance of heavy equipment in steel plants or similar industrial environments. This role demands strong technical knowledge, site execution capabilities, and the ability to lead teams in high-pressure and safety-critical working conditions. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and execute fabrication and erection of heavy steel structures, pipelines, conveyors, ducting, tanks, and mechanical equipment within the steel plant. Plan and manage shutdown and breakdown maintenance for critical mechanical systems (blast furnaces, rolling mills, conveyors, etc.). Read and interpret engineering drawings , structural GA diagrams, isometrics, and equipment layout plans. Ensure strict adherence to site safety, quality, and work schedule requirements. Coordinate with plant engineers, contractors, vendors, and third-party agencies to ensure smooth execution. Monitor material handling , ensure proper use of tools and equipment, and supervise manpower deployment. Prepare and maintain daily progress reports (DPRs) , material reconciliation, and quality checklists. Conduct toolbox talks , support site HSE initiatives, and ensure compliance with steel plant safety protocols. Participate in site inspections, testing, commissioning , and handover processes. Candidate Requirements: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering . 4-8 years of proven experience in mechanical site execution in steel plants or heavy industrial projects. Strong technical expertise in welding, rigging, alignment, hydrotesting , and installation of heavy machinery. Sound knowledge of plant safety standards, isolation procedures , and work permits in a steel plant environment. Good leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors independently. Proficient in MS Office, and familiar with project reporting tools and strong knowledge in AutoCAD or other engineering software. Flexible to work at various project locations across Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Gujarat , and during plant shutdowns or night shifts if required.

Site Execution & Supervision Supervise erection of mechanical equipment: pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, reactors, vessels, etc. Oversee piping fabrication, fit-up, welding, NDT, hydrotesting, and erection as per isometric drawings and P&IDs. Review GA drawings, piping layouts, and support drawings for constructability and interface issues. 2. Greenfield & Brownfield Project Focus For Greenfield Projects : Handle complete mechanical setup of new plants including utilities, tank farms, process equipment, and piping networks. For Brownfield Projects : Execute modifications in running plants with focus on shutdown coordination, tie-ins, safety, and isolation procedures. 3. Contractor & Resource Coordination Monitor contractor performance, manpower deployment, and productivity. Coordinate with planning and procurement for timely delivery of equipment, spools, and supports. Manage site inventory of tools, equipment, and consumables. 4. Quality & Safety Compliance Ensure welding is done as per WPS/PQR and ITPs are followed for inspection and testing. Conduct fit-up and welding inspections, witness NDT, and support QA/QC documentation. Enforce HSE policies; participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and ensure work permits are in place. 5. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily progress reports (DPR), joint measurement records, and inspection checklists. Support preparation of as-built documentation and project handover dossiers. Raise RFIs, TQs, and coordinate with design for site clarifications.
