Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) IC Mechanical tooling engineer Description: As a Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) IC Mechanical tooling engineer at Aspire Systems, your primary responsibility will involve collaborating with process engineers to develop and fabricate prototype equipment for the validation of new process architectures and addressing complex product design challenges. You will play a crucial role in working internally with process teams and external equipment manufacturers to construct fully automated novel equipment from conceptualization through mass production stages. In this role, we are seeking an individual who can drive equipment design innovation, enabling scalable processes, achieving novel product designs, and ensuring exceptional product quality. Your duties will include developing new equipment architectures to facilitate innovative process solutions, interpreting drawings and 3D models for manufacturability, designing fixtures and tooling to support production processes, and implementing measurement systems. Additionally, you will be expected to standardize hardware components, select appropriate materials for automation and equipment components, and lead various analyses and reviews to ensure reliable and cost-effective manufacturing process equipment. To be successful in this role, you should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical product development, manufacturing engineering, or similar roles. Proficiency in mechanical design software such as SolidWorks, NX, or AutoCAD is essential, along with a deep understanding of fixture and automation design, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and stress/structural analysis. A degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or related fields is required, and a willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% is expected.
