Progress from single sounds to simple word decoding and emergent sentence reading Design Multisensory Materials Create flashcards, matching games, movement- and song-based phonics drills, and tactile tracing activities. Rotate learning centers (picture reading, letter formation, sound boxes) to sustain attention spans. Monitor & Differentiate Progress Keep observation checklists and informal reading records to tailor pacing. Provide enrichment challenges for advanced readers and extra practice for those who need it. Engage Parents & Caregivers Send concise weekly updates with at-home audio links and picture-word review tips. Host monthly mini-workshops showing easy phonics games families can replicate. Cultivate a Nurturing Literacy Environment Maintain a cheerful reading nook stocked with large-format picture books, alphabet manipulatives, and puppets. Celebrate milestones (first decoded word, alphabet mastery) with praise and stickers. Qualifications & Skills Education: Diploma/Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, English, Linguistics, or related field. Certification (preferred): ECCE, Montessori, or TEFL-Young Learners. Experience: Minimum 1 year teaching 3–6-year-olds in a literacy-focused setting. Key Skills: Warm, patient classroom presence. Knowledge of evidence-based phonics and phonemic-awareness techniques. Clear parent communication. Basic tech proficiency (audio playback, interactive boards/tablets). Schedule & Logistics Format: In-person, Monday–Friday mornings (approx. 9 a.m.–12 p.m. or 3 p.m. -6 p.m.) with optional Saturday classes.
