Basic knowledge of enzyme assays is necessary to design high-throughput screening assays for evaluating strain libraries and identifying the most productive strains. Furthermore, you will be required to support the regulatory science division by developing methods for ensuring the safety of production strains and products in compliance with regulatory authorities like EFSA and GRAS. Regular reporting, including progress reports, final reports, and regulatory dossiers, will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will have general laboratory duties to fulfill. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong technical skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across different teams. Proficiency in data analysis and real-time documentation is crucial for this role. Candidates with a Ph.D. or Master's degree and 4-5 years of industry or research experience in mold expression systems are preferred. Functional responsibilities: Primary competence: Execution of projects related to genetic engineering which mainly involves cloning and expression of proteins in hosts like E. coli, Bacillus subtilis, Yarrowia lipolytica, Saccharomyces, P. pastoris Trichoderma & Aspergillus. Responsible for design & execution of R&D projects involving synthetic biology. Position requires 100% contribution on bench performing cloning and expression related experiments. Hands on experience in handling End point PCR, AGE, SDS-PAGE, RT-PCR, HCP assays and other Bioanalytical tools must. Pathway engineering by over-expression of genes, knock-out studies, Stable genomic integration, upregulation and downregulation etc. Well versed with various techniques like Gibson assembly, CRISP-Cas9. Day to day responsibilities include carrying out experiments related to molecular biology like PCR, plasmid isolation, horizontal and vertical gel electrophoresis, western blotting, bioanalytical techniques, culture, and maintenance of microbes. Analysis, documentation and reporting of experimental data. Secondary competence: Ensure all the documentation work pertaining to project in the form of reports/ppts and compliances of the team.
