Storage & Backup Service manager

Role Overview: You will be joining the Digital Platform organization at Volvo Cars to lead the Backup & Storage platform services across on-premises data centers and public cloud. Your role will involve driving reliability, resilience, and value at scale with strategic suppliers. You will be responsible for enterprise backup and recovery, file and block storage, capacity planning, cost steering, and continuous improvement of the service roadmap. Key Responsibilities: - Own the service vision and roadmap for Backup & Storage, aligning with Digital Platform strategy and enterprise capability goals. Translate the strategy into measurable objectives and vendor requirements. - Lead the governance framework for outsourced/managed services, including contractual follow-up, reviews, risk management, financials, and continuous improvement. - Capture and structure stakeholder needs, translating them into measurable vendor deliverables and change roadmaps. Prioritize service evolution based on impact, business value, and alignment with strategy. - Secure operational transparency, ensure clear observability/telemetry, reporting, and actionable incident learnings from suppliers. Drive audit readiness and continuity planning, embedding regulatory, security, and audit controls into vendor agreements and operations. - Represent internal stakeholders in supplier discussions to ensure business value and user needs are reflected in service delivery. Safeguard seamless ITSM integration and a coherent user experience across enterprise platforms. Qualifications Required: - Proven experience as a Service Manager or Service Owner for outsourced services in an enterprise context. - Deep experience in governing managed services, vendor performance, and contract steering. - Strong grounding in backup & recovery and enterprise storage across on-prem and cloud environments. - Solid ITSM literacy with the ability to drive transparency and operational readiness with suppliers and internal teams. - Skilled in stakeholder leadership, communication, and balancing strategic direction with structured follow-up and clear accountability. - Familiarity with security, compliance, and audit requirements for infrastructure services.
