Job Title: Steno-Typist Intern

Location: Nerul, Navi Mumbai

We are looking for a highly proficient Stenographer with excellent shorthand and typing skills to assist in transcribing legal proceedings, drafting documents, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced legal environment.

What you will be doing:

• Shorthand Proficiency: Master shorthand writing techniques to efficiently capture spoken words.
• Typing Speed and Accuracy: Develop fast and accurate typing skills to transcribe shorthand notes into readable text
• Listening Skills: Hone your ability to listen attentively and accurately capture spoken words and conversations
• Transcription Software: Familiarize yourself with transcription software and tools to assist in transcribing recorded content
• Grammar and Punctuation: Maintain a strong grasp of grammar, punctuation, and language conventions to produce error-free transcripts
• Attention to Detail: Pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate transcription of spoken content
• Time Management: Efficiently manage your time to meet deadlines for transcription assignments
• Confidentiality: Uphold confidentiality and data security standards, especially when transcribing sensitive or private information
• Adaptability: Adapt to different accents, speech patterns, and subject matter to ensure accurate transcription
• Assist in legal Documentation: Manage schedules, appointments, and legal documentation for attorneys. Assist in filing and maintaining organized legal records.

What we are looking for:

• Should be a graduate in law or any other field.
• Proven experience as a stenographer, preferably in a legal setting.
• Proficiency in shorthand with a minimum speed of 30 words per minute.
• Excellent typing skills with a speed of at least 30 words per minute.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology and document formatting.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and transcription software.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a legal team.
• Certification in stenography or legal transcription.
• Prior experience working in a law firm or legal department.
• Familiarity with court procedures and legal documentation.
