About Role: The BBS Engineer is responsible for the accurate preparation and verification of Bar Bending Schedules for various reinforced concrete elements across the building project lifecycle. This role ensures optimization of steel usage, timely issuance of cutting lists, coordination with structural and site execution teams, and adherence to project timelines. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review detailed BBS from structural drawings. Coordinate with structural consultants, site engineers, and contractors. Prepare cutting length, bar shapes, and quantities using AutoCAD and MS Excel. Optimize steel usage to reduce scrap and ensure cost-effective planning. Check and reconcile steel consumption reports with BOQ and site execution. Provide timely BBS for each stage of construction (footings, columns, slabs, beams, etc.). Ensure compliance with relevant IS codes and safety standards. Assist in material planning and procurement with store and planning teams. Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Skills & Expertise: Strong knowledge of RCC and steel reinforcement detailing. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and BBS preparation software/tools. Familiar with IS:2502, IS:456, and relevant reinforcement codes. Good analytical and quantity take-off skills. Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings. Effective communication and coordination abilities. Preferred Industry: Residential/Commercial/Institutional Building Projects
