As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Reciprocating Compressor design at Siemens Energy, your primary responsibility will revolve around being the engineering and technical authority for the reciprocating compressor product line. You will play a crucial role in supporting legacy brands such as Clark, Worthington, and Ingersoll Rand, ensuring engineering support and product design meet the required standards. Your day-to-day tasks will include reviewing drawings and documents for accuracy, conducting calculations for material selection, and updating product designs to align with current engineering standards. Your role will also involve verifying compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory requirements for orders and quotations, driving standardization programs for cost reduction, and participating in research and development activities to enhance product offerings. Additionally, you will provide technical support to various stakeholders including Field Service Representatives, customers, sales teams, and operations. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Reciprocating Compressor design. Proficiency in reciprocating gas compressors, problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities are essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs, Globus, SAP, CAD software, and knowledge of P&ID, GA, Compressor Datasheet, and Package are required. Additionally, you should be willing to travel up to 15% of the time, both domestically and internationally, and have an understanding of compressor codes and standards such as API, ASME, and TEMA.
