Job Description

As an embedded software lead engineer at Micron Technology, you will have the opportunity to work in a hands-on design engineering setting, writing and debugging software on physical hardware. Your role will involve developing embedded software running on bare metal to embedded Linux as well as higher level interface software. You will supervise and collaborate with other software engineers and engineering teams to create custom in-house semiconductor testers from scratch. Additionally, you will work closely with the design team based in Boise, Idaho USA to design, manufacture, and support custom semiconductor testers. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design: Develop new and modify existing equipment in cross-discipline design teams, including software, electrical, control, and mechanical engineers. Document your designs. - Code: Develop software in C, C++, Bash, and Python on bare metal and under RHEL compatible Linux distros in containers. - Manufacture: Collaborate with New Product Introduction, Field Service, and Operation teams in the manufacturing and support of equipment. - Innovate: Take on challenging projects to keep Micron competitive in the marketplace by providing unique solutions. Design what doesn't exist yet. - Support: Improve existing designs and respond to manufacturing and production support needs. - Hands-On Work: Engage in daily hands-on work with electronics, computers, in-house, and third-party designed equipment in a lab environment. - Supervise: Provide technical guidance, coach, and manage performance of the local team. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. - English fluency. - Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software interface with hardware. - Proficiency in C and C++. - Fundamental knowledge of electrical engineering and comprehension of analog circuitry. - Familiarity with lab equipment and schematic/PCB layout. - Preferred: 8+ years of proven experience in embedded software interfacing with hardware, supervisory experience, system manufacturing experience, Python and Bash proficiency, Linux and GNU tool chain proficiency, experience with schematics and PCB layout, experience interfacing with lab equipment programmatically, proficiency in analog circuitry, calibration experience, and prior people leadership experience or a strong desire for a technical manager role with people leadership responsibilities. **About Micron Technology, Inc.:** Micron Technology is a global leader in innovative memory and storage solutions, driving the transformation of information into intelligence.
