Job Description

The role at Stripe Infrastructure entails being responsible for ensuring the reliability, scale, performance, and cost-effectiveness of Stripes systems, as well as focusing on the productivity and sentiment of Stripes people. As a part of this team, you may be involved in various critical business areas that support Stripes operations, such as the Admin Platform and Support Experience. In the Admin Platform, the goal is to empower Stripes to efficiently create secure and user-friendly internal products. On the other hand, in the Support Experience area, the team works on enhancing the email, phone, and chat support channels, Premium Support and Enterprise Services products, Support Site, and more. This involves improving how users seek help within products, how they communicate with the support team, and how internal tools are utilized to address queries. As an Engineer on the team, you will be expected to provide technical leadership to a new engineering team. Your responsibilities may include defining the technical vision and architecture for Stripes support experience or internal tools platform, developing engaging user interfaces, scaling the contact platform connecting users with support teams, and enhancing internal tools for user-facing teams. Key responsibilities include owning problems from end to end, leading large technical projects, maintaining high engineering standards, advising the leadership team on critical decisions, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization, and mentoring the next generation of technical leaders at Stripe. Minimum requirements for the role include a strong technical background with over 10 years of experience in building impactful products or systems at scale, expertise in architecting and designing full-stack systems, a passion for distilling complexity to solve real-world business problems, and effective communication and collaboration skills. Preferred qualifications include experience in building products for developers or operations teams, leading projects across multiple engineering teams, and proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Ruby, and Java. In terms of office expectations, Stripes in various locations are expected to spend a certain percentage of their time in the office or with users, depending on the role, team, and location. This approach aims to strike a balance between in-person collaboration and flexibility while supporting users and workflows effectively.,
