• Direct patient care: Provide hands-on care, including administering medications, dressings, and treatments; monitor patient conditions by recording vital signs; and assist patients with personal hygiene and daily activities like feeding.
• Patient assessment and planning: Assess patient health needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Documentation and record-keeping: Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date medical records, including patient history, observations, and treatments.
• Collaboration and communication: Work with physicians, other nurses, and allied health personnel to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.
• Patient and family education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-hospital care instructions.
• Supervision: May supervise and guide junior nurses, nursing students, and support staff.
• Adherence to procedures: Ensure all procedures, such as admissions and discharges, are carried out according to hospital policies and routines.
