Staff Nurse

Reports To: Nursing Superintendent / Ward In-Charge

Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse provides comprehensive patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions. The role focuses on delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to patients while supporting doctors, allied health staff, and the hospital team.

Eligibility:

• BSc Nursing (4-year degree) OR Diploma in Nursing (3-year course).

• Registered with the

  Tamilnadu

  State Nursing Council

• Minimum of 0 - 2 years of clinical experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care & Monitoring:

• Provide nursing care as per hospital protocols and physician instructions.
• Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and patient progress.
• Administer medications, injections, and IV therapy accurately.

2. Clinical Support:

• Assist doctors during procedures, examinations, and minor operations.
• Prepare patients for surgeries and other medical interventions.

3. Documentation & Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate patient records, nursing charts, and treatment logs.
• Update patient history and progress notes in the Hospital Information System (HIS).

4. Patient Education & Counseling:

• Educate patients and caregivers about treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families.

5. Infection Control & Safety:

• Follow infection control protocols and maintain hygiene standards.
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to hospital policies.

6. Team Collaboration:

• Coordinate with doctors, therapists, and allied health professionals for holistic patient care.
• Participate in nursing meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

• BSc Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (3-year course).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license from State Nursing Council.
• Strong clinical knowledge and patient care skills. Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
