Staff Engineer, React Native

As a Staff Software Engineer specializing in React Native at Redpin, you will play a crucial role in shaping the mobile strategy of our B2C group. Your expertise will be instrumental in bridging platforms and delivering high-quality mobile experiences. You will collaborate with a talented team of iOS and Android engineers to create our first-ever React Native mobile application, aiming to enhance the web-on-mobile experience as well. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect and implement the foundational React Native mobile app for multiple Redpin brands - Ensure a seamless experience across iOS, Android, and web-on-mobile platforms - Guide the transition from native iOS/Android development to a unified React Native codebase - Share knowledge and best practices with native engineers to facilitate their onboarding to React Native - Define architecture, coding practices, testing, and release workflows for our mobile future - Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leadership to align technical decisions with customer impact and business value **Qualifications Required:** - 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in hands-on React Native development - Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, mobile UI/UX, and debugging performance across platforms - Experience leading or contributing to mobile migrations from native iOS/Android to React Native - Ability to make high-stakes technical decisions in collaboration with engineering leadership - Strong communication skills for cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration - Leadership experience in mentoring engineers and improving team-wide practices In addition, hands-on experience with Expo and its ecosystem, familiarity with mobile testing libraries (Jest, Detox), continuous delivery best practices, and implementing scalable UI systems in React Native would be advantageous.
