Description
OnSemi is seeking a Staff Engineer - Application in the AMG division specializing in power management products. The responsibilities of this role include working on reference board development and proof of concepts for power management products targeted at industrial and automotive customers. Additionally, the role involves developing collaterals, datasheets, and simulation models of the products, as well as validating system and reference designs. Circuit simulation for product definition and system development, writing validation plans for systems, and PCB design of system/reference boards are also key aspects of the role. Furthermore, the Staff Engineer will provide customer support, solutions to customers, and support new product definition. They will engage in benchmarking and provide relevant information to cross-functional teams such as marketing and silicon design. Collaboration with Marketing/Silicon Design/Sales/Distributors and Application Engineers from other regions is essential for achieving business goals. Documenting and sharing lessons learned with the team, troubleshooting field issues at the application level, and proposing effective solutions are also part of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have a B.Tech or M.Tech in ECE/Electrical Engineering or related technical field, with 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience in power electronics system development with an M.Tech degree. Sound knowledge of AC-DC, gate drivers, motor controllers, and DC-DC controllers is required, along with experience working with SiC and gate drivers. A good understanding of gate drivers and SiC FET operation, experience in system simulation and control loop modeling, proficiency in working with lab equipment, and knowledge of industrial and automotive regulatory standards are essential.
