About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to manage the complete financial operations of our educational institution, encompassing both school and college accounts. This is a sole accountant position, requiring the candidate to independently handle day-to-day accounting, statutory compliance, and financial reporting, while liaising with the Chartered Accountant for audits, filings, and strategic financial matters. Key Responsibilities 1. Accounting & Financial Management Maintain accurate books of accounts using Tally ERP / Tally Prime . Record daily financial transactions including fees, receipts, and expenses. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Handle cash flow management and reconcile bank accounts regularly. Working knowledge of audit preparation and internal control systems 2. Statutory Compliance Calculate and file PF (Provident Fund) and ESI (Employee State Insurance) contributions. Ensure timely payment of TDS and preparation of returns. Maintain Documentation for audit and statutory inspection (statutory compliance) Assist in compliance with Income Tax , Professional Tax , and other applicable statutory obligations for educational institutions. 3. Payroll & HR Coordination Prepare monthly payroll, ensuring statutory deductions. Maintain employee records for salary, PF, ESI, gratuity, and leave encashment. 4. Liaison & Coordination Work closely with the Chartered Accountant for audits, statutory filings, and finalization of accounts. Liaise with government departments for statutory submissions and clarifications. Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce / Finance / Accounting (B.Com, M.Com, or equivalent). Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an educational institution. Proficiency in Tally ERP / Tally Prime and MS Excel . In-depth knowledge of PF, ESI, TDS, GST, Income Tax compliance. Must have worked in a CA Firm Strong understanding of accounting principles and statutory requirements for schools and colleges. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. Good communication and coordination skills for liaising with auditors, banks, and government offices.
