As a Senior Thermal Design Engineer at Voltanova, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and optimization of high-temperature thermal storage systems. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing thermal energy storage systems tailored for high-temperature applications, collaborating closely with the engineering team to create scalable and cost-effective solutions. You will utilize thermal models and simulations to enhance heat retention, energy conversion, and overall system efficiency. Additionally, integrating heating mechanisms such as resistive heating and inductive heating for optimal energy transfer with minimal loss will be a key aspect of your role. Your involvement in prototyping, validating designs, conducting performance benchmarking, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations will be vital to our success. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Energy Systems, or related disciplines, along with a minimum of 6 years of experience in designing thermal energy storage systems or similar high-temperature applications. Your strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science in high-temperature environments, coupled with hands-on experience in thermal simulation software and modeling tools, will be essential.
